The guardian sports

1. Content Physical vs digital
Football dominates the content of the physical paper as the paper is restricted in terms of the amount of content it can have. Due to this fact, the paper will have a smaller variety of options available for readers, and thus will focus on the most popular sports. For example In the physical newspaper almost all content is focused on football, while on the digital platform there is a much larger mix of sports, baseball rugby and the paralympics are sports which have their own articles in the online platform.

2. How easy is it to find online/offline - It is much easier to find specific stories and sport results online as the website has titles and subtitles that link to new pages.
When offline, it can be much more confusing for the readers as all the information is spread across two pages, they therefore have to search to find the information they’re looking to read. Online, you can also use the search bar at the top, therefore making it extremely efficient when looking for particular results or articles.

Allows you to chose sections very easily, sports put in order of popularity

3. Amount of detail more/less stories online/offline
Online there is more detail a lot more stories. Online it shows more stories around the world about for example they have a title for different sports such as baseball and paralympics. They have more information in the different sections e.g. in the title of the rugby world cup in 2019 ‘England face Tonga in opening fixture of 2019 Rugby World Cup’ it shows all the Pools for September, October and November. All of this information is not shown in the paper meaning there is less detail in the papers and also there are not as many stories. In the paper they don’t include any non-UK sports however online they include baseball and they also include smaller stories such as the paralympics however online there is a lot more information than in the paper. Online there is also another story about Nadal’s victory in Paris. There are sections such as ‘other sports’, ‘catch up’, ‘football’, and ‘videos’ meaning that there are more stories about different sports around the world.

4. Interactive element- how does it differ online/offline? What can readers do?
Online, you can comment on specific articles this makes people more interactive and gives them the chance to be more expressive. As you can see below, online you can also share articles on social media such as facebook, twitter and via email whereas

offline, none of this is available.
